Holiday Parade Winners!

Downtown Organization Announces Winners of the
59th Annual Downtown Holiday Parade


SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – On Friday, December 2nd the 59th Annual Downtown Holiday Parade showcased Holiday Dreams on State Street. The parade, sponsored by the Santa Barbara Downtown Organization, featured over 70 entries and over 3,000 participants that included magnificent marching bands, fabulous floats and spectacular performance groups, the Grand Marshal professional surfer Lakey Peterson, the Holiday Prince & Fairy and of course, Santa Claus! With more than 50,000 spectators, this was the most spectacular holiday community event!

The 2011 parade winners are Most Theme Oriented – Grand Prize: Santa Barbara Overhead Door; Most Creative: Girl Scouts of Santa Barbara County; Most Spirited: South Coast Karate; Best Performance Group: Dos Pueblos High School Marching Band, Drill Team and Cheerleaders; Best High School Band: San Marcos High School; Best Junior High School Band: Goleta Valley Junior High School; Best Elementary School Band: Goleta Union Schools Band; Best Drill Team: San Marcos Dance & Cheer.

The Downtown Organization would like to thank Southern California Edison for donating the Community Holiday Tree and the City’s Public Works crew for installing it at State and Victoria Streets.
