From open-air trolleys and electric shuttle buses to pedi-cabs, getting around downtown Santa Barbara is easy and fun! A popular way to explore downtown’s unique shops, restaurants, and Mediterranean architecture is to park your car in one of the twelve public parking lots and walk the beautifully landscaped eight-block corridor and adjacent side streets.

The program’s mission is to welcome visitors and locals to the downtown area, help direct them to area shops, restaurants, cultural venues and historic sites while answering questions and handing out the Downtown Map & Guide. Downtown Host volunteers are a valuable resource and a friendly face of the community, creating a warm, vibrant, welcoming environment for visitors, workers and business owners. As knowledgeable ambassadors, they promote downtown Santa Barbara as a premier shopping, dining and cultural destination. Downtown Hosts are located on the 500, 800 and 1100 blocks of State Street 12-4 pm Saturday and Sunday from May 23 to September 27.
 Downtown-Waterfront Electric Shuttle (805) 963-3366The Downtown-Waterfront Shuttles provide frequent service along State Street and the Waterfront area. Shuttle buses and bus stops are marked with blue and black sailboat symbols and the shuttles travel on State Street from Sola Street to Stearns Wharf and along Cabrillo Boulevard. The shuttle fare is 25 cents one-way and children under 5 ride free. Santa Barbara Historic Trolley (805) 965-0353
A narrated Downtown Tour, which begins and ends at Stearns Wharf, showcases many historic sites in the area including De La Guerra Plaza, the Presidio, and the Mission.
