The program’s mission is to welcome visitors and locals to the downtown area, help direct them to area shops, restaurants, cultural venues and historic sites while answering questions and handing out the Downtown Map & Guide. Downtown Hosts are volunteers who are a valuable resource and a friendly face of the community, creating a warm, vibrant, welcoming environment for visitors, workers and business owners. As knowledgeable ambassadors, they promote downtown Santa Barbara as a premier shopping, dining and cultural destination. Downtown Hosts are located at Hot Spots at 36 State Street and at Paseo Nuevo Shopping Center at 800 State Street from noon to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday’s from May 23 to September 27.
